Cloverleaf 4-H'ers (5th/6th grade)

We have so much to offer your 5th or 6th grader! Colquitt County 4-H visits each of the 10 county schools once a month with interesting and jam-packed lessons to get your kids mind working!

Cloverleaf Project Achievement
We challenge our students to learn more and target their interests by presenting them opportunities to share the things they like, through writing a 2 page essay on something entertaining or interesting to them! We hand their essays to a board of judges and up to 1 or 2 students are selected as 1st place winner and move on to our district competition to share their projects. After being chosen, they will create a visual display such as a poster and maybe some props and will then compete with others in that particular project area to become a finalist.
Every year, each student that is selected to go to district and goes to the competition will get to go an amazing awards trip! In recent years, we have taken them to the Albany Fun Park and let them place laser tag and all the arcade games for free! We hope that your child chooses to participate in this fun, learning opportunity!

Poultry Judging Team
Your child can learn all about chickens! This team gets to go to the district level and compete in many areas of poultry judging. Your child will learn the importance of chickens by candleing eggs, judging parts of the chicken, and they can even hold a live chicken (not required)!! If you are interested in getting your child involved in this fun filled team, he/she will get information to join through a monthly newsletter we send out.

BB Team
Orientation Meeting for the new 2013-2014 BB Team will be September 17, 2013 at 7:00pm - 8:00pm held at the 4-H Auditorium.
Practices will start the Tuesday after the Orientation Meeting (September 24, 2013) and will be held every Tuesday night and start around either 5:30pm or 6:00pm. Details and exact times will be given at the orientation meeting!
